A main purpose of MAGIC is to provide for collaborative efforts and educational opportunities for GIS practitioners in the Midwest. The MAGIC Symposium is one of the key projects that MAGIC offers towards this purpose. The MAGIC Education Committee has the role of organizing other education efforts that MAGIC sponsors. The main projects for the Education Committee include:

• Sponsorship of GIS initiatives for student and youth groups such as EAST, 4-H, and Scouts, Jr. ROTC, and other groups.
• MAGIC hosting/sponsorship of Acedemia/Public Sector/Private Sector Forums
• Develop MAGIC Outreach Materials
• Develop a GIS knowledge base or web resource center for regional GIS practitioners
