2017 South Dakota Statewide Geospatial Conference coming up!

    The 2017 South Dakota Statewide Geospatial Conference will be held July 25-26, 2017 at Mitchell Technical Institute in Mitchell, SD. The general purpose of the conference is to share information related to Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing, and Global Positioning Systems (GPS). Conference attendees will learn about the latest advances in geospatial technologies and how they are being used, meet other people from around the state and region who use geospatial technologies, and learn where to find geospatial datasets. The conference is being put on by staff from DENR, GF&P, DOT, EROS, and SDSU.

    In addition to oral presentations, the conference will have workshops on multiple topics including LiDAR, remote sensing, and mobile data collection. ESRI will offer their popular Hands-On Learning Lab (HOLL) during the conference. The HOLL is a personalized training lab where conference attendees can learn about specific ArcGIS topics at their own pace in the presence of an ESRI instructor. Dr. Frank Kelly, Director of the USGS EROS Center, is one of the keynote speakers at the conference.

    Please encourage any of your staff that would benefit from learning more about GIS and GPS technologies to attend. Registration is $55 and includes participation in the workshops.
