The position will assist the GIS Manager with a variety of cross-departmental duties related to the City's Geographic Information System (GIS) during the 2026 summer semester.  Key job duties include map creation to fulfill requests, data entry, map updates, and work towards long-term GIS goals. Position Summary

The Asset Manager oversees and coordinates the development, implementation and optimization of the asset management program for municipal infrastructure. • Serve as the principal trainer and point of contact for work and asset computer applications. Develop training materials and reference guides for employees.
• Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, standards and guidelines for public works infrastructure.
• Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential asset failures and service disruptions.
• Drives City and/or personal vehicle to perform essential functions of position.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, geography, public administration, business management, environmental studies or related field, plus 2-3 years asset management, GIS, public works or infrastructure management, OR High School diploma or G.E.D. plus 5-6 years experience in asset management, GIS, public works or infrastructure management.

Environmental and Physical Factors

This position requires the ability to collect asset information in an outdoor setting. The position will frequently require the ability to traverse and work on uneven terrain and in various weather conditions. Mobility is also required to work at computer stations located throughout the City. Other requirements include the ability to sit for prolonged periods of time; visual acuity and accommodation to review alpha/numeric data.
