    The City of Warrensburg, Missouri  is accepting applications for the GIS Coordinator position. This position reports to the Community Development Director. The Geographic Information System (GIS) Coordinator supports the City’s use of GIS as a management decision-support tool.  The employee in this position will maintain GIS infrastructure and environment for the City and establish and maintain effective working relationships with City department heads and GIS users, IT staff, county GIS, representatives of other public agencies, contractors, consultants and the general public.  Please see the linked job description for more job duties associated with the GIS Coordinator position.

    Salary RangeGIS Coordinator salary range is $42,328/year to $63,502

    Minimum Training and Experience Required for this position includes: Associates degree with emphasis in GIS, Geography, Urban Planning, Public Administration, Computer Science, or a related field; and 2 years of experience with and knowledge, coordination of geographic mapping, editing, planning and GIS data maintenance and analysis.  

    Preferred training and experience for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Public Administration, Computer Science, or a related field; ESRI Technical Certification.

Processes documents in the land records system to update GIS system. Performs other duties as assigned. Works with GIS Analyst to assure project completion as necessary. This position is supervised by the GIS Manager.     Education and Experience:

    • College degree in Geography, Computer Science or GIS related field from an accredited college or university

    • Extensive experience with ESRI software, specifically ESRI ArcGIS Pro v2.x
    • Demonstrated experience with Geoprocessing within the ArcGIS environment
    • Experience configuring and managing ArcGIS Online/Enterprise Maps and Apps
    • Experience with high-accuracy GPS data collections
    • Knowledge of GIS as it relates to land development, local government, public works, planning, civil engineering, and transportation
    • Ability to work within a team atmosphere
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license. Regional travel may be required

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in developing automation within the ArcGIS environment using scripting languages such as Python
    • Experience with CAD products including AutoDesk Map or Civil 3D
    • Ability to communicate and promote geospatial solutions amongst others
    • Desire and ability to remote-pilot Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS)

    East-West Gateway Council of Governments (EWG) has an opening for a GIS Planner in the Research Services Department.  This middle-level professional position reports to the Manager of GIS Services and has general responsibility for performing specific research, mapping, data maintenance, and other user support activities within the agency’s GIS program.

    This position requires strong technical skills, with demonstrable abilities to access, manipulate, display, and interpret data and to succinctly summarize and communicate information in written and oral forms. Strong cartographic skills are essential. The position requires experience with ArcGIS 10.x software, ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Pro, and data sources pertaining to planning-related topics such as population, housing, the economy, education, crime, emergency response, health, government, environment, and transportation.  Knowledge and interest in emerging server-based solutions for GIS data management, distribution, distributed editing, and map service publishing is desirable.

    The successful candidate for this position must be able to effectively communicate and work with a wide variety of professional staff both inside and outside of the agency.  This position will generate maps and spatial analyses, integrate datasets, document data and processes with metadata, and assist senior staff in data maintenance and training activities.  Candidates should have an interest in building a successful and high profile regional GIS program.

    The successful candidate for this position will have graduated from an accredited four-year college or university, with major course work in Computer Science, Planning, Land Information Systems, Geography, or in a directly related field and will have 3 years of directly related professional experience or an equivalent combination of directly related education and professional experience.  A graduate degree in a directly related field may be substituted for 1 year of experience.
