    In this role, you would provide expertise on a wide variety of GIS related projects for both internal and external clients. The position will primarily be responsible for data analysis, advanced map development and configuration of web-based GIS solutions.  As an Esri Business Partner, Bolton & Menk leverages the latest GIS software technology and methods for delivering cutting edge results.  

    Education and Experience:

    • College degree in Geography, Computer Science or GIS related field from an accredited college or university
    • 3 to 5 years of progressive GIS experience preferred
    • Extensive experience with ESRI software, specifically ESRI ArcGIS Pro v2.x
    • Demonstrated experience with Geoprocessing within the ArcGIS environment
    • Experience configuring and managing ArcGIS Online/Enterprise Maps and Apps
    • Experience with high-accuracy GPS data collections
    • Knowledge of GIS as it relates to land development, local government, public works, planning, civil engineering, and transportation
    • Ability to work within a team atmosphere
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license. Regional travel may be required

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in developing automation within the ArcGIS environment using scripting languages such as Python
    • Experience with CAD products including AutoDesk Map or Civil 3D
    • Ability to communicate and promote geospatial solutions amongst others
    • Desire and ability to remote-pilot Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS)

    East-West Gateway Council of Governments (EWG) has an opening for a GIS Planner in the Research Services Department.  This middle-level professional position reports to the Manager of GIS Services and has general responsibility for performing specific research, mapping, data maintenance, and other user support activities within the agency’s GIS program.

    This position requires strong technical skills, with demonstrable abilities to access, manipulate, display, and interpret data and to succinctly summarize and communicate information in written and oral forms. Strong cartographic skills are essential. The position requires experience with ArcGIS 10.x software, ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Pro, and data sources pertaining to planning-related topics such as population, housing, the economy, education, crime, emergency response, health, government, environment, and transportation.  Knowledge and interest in emerging server-based solutions for GIS data management, distribution, distributed editing, and map service publishing is desirable.

    The successful candidate for this position must be able to effectively communicate and work with a wide variety of professional staff both inside and outside of the agency.  This position will generate maps and spatial analyses, integrate datasets, document data and processes with metadata, and assist senior staff in data maintenance and training activities.  Candidates should have an interest in building a successful and high profile regional GIS program.

    The successful candidate for this position will have graduated from an accredited four-year college or university, with major course work in Computer Science, Planning, Land Information Systems, Geography, or in a directly related field and will have 3 years of directly related professional experience or an equivalent combination of directly related education and professional experience.  A graduate degree in a directly related field may be substituted for 1 year of experience.

    The salary range for this position begins at $47,426 annually, with actual starting salary based on background and experience.  EWG offers an attractive compensation and benefits package, including: insurance (health, dental, vision, and life), flexible spending accounts, retirement plan with employer match, and generous paid time off (vacation, holiday, and sick leave).

    If you are an analytical, and creative problem solver, the Nebraska Office of the Chief Information Officer has a unique opportunity to apply your skills in GIS application development. This position will provide Geographic Information System (GIS) support to various state agencies and develop GIS based applications for Statewide use. You may create geospatial data from a variety of different sources and create metadata for the dataset. Position works with other OCIO-GIS team members and helps support the Nebraska Enterprise GIS environment.
